Being dissconnected is costly

There’s an old saying “it’s lonely at the top”. Leaders and CEO’s can run the risk, especially when they have a lot on, of becoming isolated and typically that isolation does not provide a strong platform for getting the best from their leadership and their people.

At times when you have significant goals to achieve or challenges to overcome, there is one question that it is worth posing to yourself. ‘Who is my sounding board, my trusted adviser, the independent individual who challenges me or allows me to find my own clarity and to make good decisions?”

Whoever that person is, find a way to regularly connect with them and engage with them. If there is no one, then find that person because they are likely to be worth their weight in gold to you both personally and professionally.
