Lifting Leadership Performance by Addressing an EQ Gap
Our client, an executive team member, had hit a ceiling in his leadership career. He had excellent commercial acumen but found it challenging to engage effectively and influentially with people.
Using our comprehensive Gap Analysis process, we elicited feedback from several of his stakeholders – seniors, peers, juniors and external stakeholders. The resulting report identified the core issues, in particular an inability to manage certain stress triggers well.
Our one on one coaching focused initially on facilitating our client to identify the stress triggers and his responses and providing him with tools for effective self-management in these situations. Having embedded these EQ skills, our client is now engaging very successfully at a personal and strategic level with his executive team and is also coaching and developing his people effectively. His confidence levels have improved significantly and his enjoyment of and increased success in his role is marked.
